The Action Research on Research Culture (ARRC) are looking for PIs who are recruiting new postdocs to work with them in testing the new format of the narrative CV being used widely by funders such as UKRI and ERC. They are trying to understand whether the narrative CV makes a difference to shortlisting and recruitment decisions, and the experience of both applicants and reviewers in writing and assessing the narrative CV. The work is part of the high-profile ARRC project funded by Research England, so the results could have a direct bearing on future policy decisions relating to the narrative CV. You do not need to be in favour of or against narrative CVs to take part in the study.
The experiment is designed to have minimal impact on the overall recruitment process, and the ARRC team is on hand to support those participating throughout. Participation demonstrates a commitment to research culture, which is encouraging for candidates. You can read endorsements from previous participants here.
