Carbon dioxide removal from the atmosphere is now thought by many to be essential to limit climate change. This online panel discussion will explore “direct air capture” of carbon dioxide – a technology where ambient air is filtered to remove this greenhouse gas. Spurred by investment in this area, many early-stage companies as well as academics are now developing new processes and materials to try to overcome the high costs of direct air capture (estimated to be around $500 per ton of carbon dioxide).

This panel discussion will bring together experts from academia and industry to discuss the challenges and opportunities to develop improved materials and processes for direct air capture.
