Are you a Cambridge university student with caring responsibilities?

Caring responsibilities could take the form of unpaid caring or having parental responsibilities for a child who does not have additional needs. An unpaid carer is anyone who cares, unpaid, for a friend or family member who due to illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction cannot cope without their support. Unpaid caring can take up a few hours each week, or a carer may be caring for 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Some unpaid carers live with, or near to, the person they are caring for, whereas others provide more remote support. Those with caring responsibilities could instead be a parent of a child who does not have an illness, special educational needs, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction.

Join an event from 12pm-1pm on Tuesday 15th October in the Senior Parlour, Gonville and Caius College to hear about what support you can access and advice on managing multiple responsibilities from local organisation 'Caring Together' and the University Counselling Service. Optionally, join for a social lunch in Caius Dining Hall from 1pm.

NB: This event has been organised with unpaid carers in mind but parents of children who do not have an illness, disability, a mental health problem or an addiction may also find it useful!

Please contact al988@cam.ac.uk with any questions or to request the link to our student carers (unpaid carers and parents) FB group/WhatsApp Community to keep up to date with events etc.
