Speaker: Professor Lisa Jardine-Wright

Date: 5 March 2025

Time: 11:15am

Location: Cluster Seminar Room, Public Wing, Ray Dolby Centre

Are you curious about Isaac Physics and STEM SMART and how they support students with physics and STEM education?

To find out more, join an insightful seminar by Prof Lisa Jardine-Wright, who leads the Isaac Physics and STEM SMART programmes— two cutting-edge national/international physics projects designed to support students and teachers in thousands of schools and universities. Together with UCAS, Isaac Physics and STEM SMART have conducted an independent evaluation of the impact of their programs on over 96,000 students. The evaluation centered around answering three key questions (see below), will serve as the central focus of this seminar.
Does engagement with Isaac Physics and STEM SMART result in:

1.     Raised university aspirations?
2.     Raised attainment at A level (or equivalent)?
3.     Improves outcomes (receiving offers and securing university places)?

All members of the department and wider University (e.g. parent, lecturer, tutor, DoS, student, programme designers, event organisers, data scientists, those tasked with evaluating impact) are welcome to attend. Bring your questions, insights, and curiosity.
This is a hybrid meeting. You can attend in person at the Cluster Seminar Room, Public Wing, Ray Dolby Centre, or join the meeting online via this Teams link.
