iGEM is an annual competition of high acclaim, with 350 participating teams from 45 countries  last year. The competition involves teams of students trying to solve real-world problems using Synthetic Biology tools.

Past projects range in scope from the development of therapeutic diagnostic tools to projects targeted at manufacturing and addressing environmental concerns.
The competition involves computational and biological aspects and team members can come from a wide variety of backgrounds ranging from biologists to engineers to computer scientists.
Participating in iGEM is a unique opportunity to represent the university at an international competition, develop your own project in a team, develop wetlab and drylab experience, and can be a stepping stone to learn about and get involved with Biotechnology!

How to apply:

The deadline for early applications is the 20th of December at 5 pm GMT. The application involves filling out a short form: Link

This includes submitting a CV and a small task - we do not expect you to spend too much time on the task.
