Rachel Egan:
- Rachel Egan obtained a BSc in Chemistry from University College Dublin before moving to the University of Cambridge for her graduate studies. She completed her PhD under the supervision of Professor Jenny Zhang and Professor Erwin Reisner, working in the field of semi-artificial photosynthesis. Her research focuses on leveraging living microorganisms as catalysts in electrochemical devices for solar-chemical energy conversion. She specialises in interface design, using polymers to enhance conductivity at cell-electrode interfaces.
Nadia Radzman:
- Nadia Radzman is passionate about improving food security through her expertise in plant peptides and translating this biotechnology to the field. She had studied four different plant peptide families that control various aspects of plant development. Nadia is also a founder of an early-stage startup, developing peptides that can accelerate crop improvement. Apart from her entrepreneurial and research work, Nadia is also an active steering committee member of Cambridge Global Food Security (GFS) that is involved in developing programmes and events as platforms for interdisciplinary dialogues and collaborations between different departments across University of Cambridge to solve food security issues.
