The team at Cambridge Zero invites you to their next event in the new year:

We are pleased to invite you to this one-day industry-academia engagement event for the University of Cambridge's new Sustainable Energy Materials (SEM) PhD Programme.

Join us for an in-depth look at the University of Cambridge’s Sustainable Energy Materials (SEM) PhD Programme on 16th January 2025. The one-day event will provide a comprehensive overview of the SEM initiative, a keynote address by Professor Dame Clare Grey, FRS and research presentations on cutting-edge projects and academic-industry collaborations across Cambridge. Attendees will be able to learn more about the SEM programme, explore ways to engage, and connect with leading researchers and industry partners.
The SEM PhD Programme is a new, interdisciplinary initiative designed to drive innovation and industry collaboration in the field of sustainable energy materials. This 3.5-year programme unites expertise from across physical sciences and engineering at Cambridge, training PhD candidates to tackle the challenges of developing materials for energy generation, storage, and efficient use—critical to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. The SEM PhD Programme is a transformative opportunity for industry leaders seeking to invest in sustainable energy solutions, accelerate innovation, and cultivate talent at the forefront of energy materials science.
The event will highlight innovative projects and academic-industry collaborations at Cambridge through talks delivered by leading academics and industry partners. It will also feature short overview presentations from industry representatives and PhD researchers, offering diverse perspectives on cutting-edge advancements in sustainable energy materials. We encourage you to participate in one or both of the following opportunities to actively engage in the event:

Industry Talks:
Industry representatives are invited to deliver a 5-minute presentation, providing an overview of their organization, including its core activities, areas of expertise, and ongoing or future initiatives related to the event's theme. This is an opportunity to highlight your organization's role in the field, showcase collaboration opportunities, and connect with academics at the University of Cambridge.

Poster Presentations:
Attendees are invited to participate in the event by presenting a poster, an excellent opportunity to share your research, projects, or innovative ideas with a diverse audience. Poster presentations are open to all, and participants are encouraged to sign up to showcase their work, foster discussions, and build connections.

We look forward to welcoming you to this exciting event and exploring how we can work together to shape the future of sustainable energy materials. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or to confirm your participation.
