The School of Technology Worktribe Readiness Group, which includes our own Tom Matthams, Academic Secretary at CEB, has been recognised for its contributions to improving processes within the University.

The team was awarded the Innovating and Improving category at the Professional Services Recognition Scheme ceremony, held on 5 December.

The judging panel commended the team for its exceptional collaboration and dedication to implementing the Worktribe project. Tasked with introducing this transformative system, the group brought together members from across departments to simplify and streamline grant management processes.

Despite the pressures of such a significant rollout, the team’s commitment to thorough preparation – from customising features to extensive system testing – ensured a smooth launch that has been widely praised. By delaying the initial launch, the team prioritised long-term success over immediate timelines, setting a benchmark for thoughtful and effective implementation.

Through consultations, feedback sessions, and collaborative efforts, the team has improved workflows for researchers and administrators alike, transforming an essential system that will benefit users across the University. Their approach has been described as a model for future change initiatives, exemplifying innovation, teamwork, and a shared commitment to excellence.

The judging panel wrapped up their praise with: "Well done team!"

The Professional Services Recognition Scheme highlights the contributions of teams and individuals whose work underpins the University’s academic mission. The Innovating and Improving category specifically celebrates projects like this one, which simplify systems and processes to enhance overall efficiency.
