Dr Frank Alfred Kirk died earlier this year, aged 81. He studied Chemical Engineering at Cambridge, starting in 1963. At that time, the course involved two years in Natural or Mechanical Sciences followed by two years in the Department of Chemical Engineering, based in the Shell building on Pembroke Street.

Frank completed his PhD under Professor John Davidson in 1970. We send our condolences to his widow, Helen, and all who knew him.
